Road rage and us.

Often, one finds himself tired and mentally strained after a drive in the city’s traffic. Have you ever wondered why that happens? Its not the problem with the city’s traffic police, or with other vehicles on the road. Its more often that not, you.

Yes, road-rage as it is called is one of the biggest menaces all around the world. Many people are prone to road-rage, because of lack of awareness of the solution that might get them home less tired and strained.

The solution as I’d like to call it is to just relax. What to do when :
1) Someone crosses the road suddenly
a) Chances are that you were driving too fast for the pedestrian  to know that you were coming. Drive slow, and be aware.

2) Someone (wants to) cut you / change(d) lanes without indication.
a)This happens a lot in India. Just let him go. That way you’d no longer get irritated by his repeated trials to cross lanes.

3) Someone is tail-gating you and is honking at you demanding you move from his way.
a) This is an ever-increasing annoyance. People are slowly losing patience. What you need to do is to give him way if possible. That is, if there is enough room on the road. Else, signal to him with your hand that he’d have to wait sometime before he’d be able to overtake you. Once signalled, people usually feel answered, and slow down.

4) You are moving fast, but there is a break in the divider, and people are taking a U-turn/ turning to a bylane.
a) Hello !! You are not supposed to be moving fast near crossections. You are supposed to slow down, and if possible come to a complete stop at the intersection. Allow all vehicles that reached the intersection before you did to cross. If others ( those that reached after you) want to cross the road, let them. This way, you’d avoid a major bottleneck at the intersection.

You might be wondering if I drive a car. Nope. I’ve a two-wheeler, and I still make a difference.  Take care.
