A few days back, my wehost suddenly shut down its server. After waiting for hours, I finally called the webhosting guy, and it was only then that he noticed that!! It seems there was some guy who bought just too much traffic for too long a time, and so the datacenter guys just switched off the server. It took nearly two long days to get the server and my websites back.
2 days is too long a downtime allowed for a webhost, and I also have mine as well as @ubuntu.org.in and .co.in people relying on their emails, hence I decided to switch to a better webhost. I chose Godaddy, coz I wanted reliability. Customer service wasn’t my preference( its known godaddy sucks at that), as I was already familiar with webhosting and stuff. I’m now writing after having migrated my website to Godaddy’s webhosting service. I feel lot safer.
GoDaddy is nice, though have been told that hostgator is better.
I don’t use either but a reseller account with a medium size pro company with awesome support. Drop me a line if you want the name.
I’ll definitely let you know once I need a new webhost. I’ll be testing godaddy for the initial 2 month period. After which, I shall decide if its time ti move on.
Wait a min, do you want to sell your blog? if you do, let me know, thanks.
How long did it take you to write this blog.
Anyone interested in making a quick buck? (well, actually, up to 160$ per hour)
